I have a 4300 JD coming (hopefully) within the next few weeks. After looking at them I think I would like to have some kind of scuff pads on both fenders and the floor edge. And maybe on both sides where your toes scuff from using the brake and clutch.I don't know what would stick the fiberglass but I'm sure someone will have a solution. Thanks, Ken in West Virginia

You could always take your shoes off each time you get on. This would eliminate the scuffing and keep dirt off the floor as well. ....

I don't know if you have seen the spray-in bedliners that you can get for pick up trucks now or not. I am thinking about taking the next tractor I get to one of the spray-in places and get them to do the floor boards. If you haven't seen this stuff, you should check it out. They scuff the paint in the truck bed and spray this rubberized coating in. The stuff is tear resistant and will not let your cargo slide like a traditional bedliner. It seems perfect for tractor applications. ....

Thanks Bill, but then would't you get your socks dirty? I guess this being my first ( BIG ) JD I kind of got carried away. Thinking that fiberglass can't take as much as steel was my main concern. But like I said---thanks for all the pros & cons. KEN ....

Thanks BillH,I just knew someone would come through. Thinking fiberglass wouldn't take the abuse steel would I was trying to think of a wayto prevent any damage. While looking at tractors I've come across some with 500 hrs. that still was spotless. I guess its different strokes. Thanks anyway, KEN ....

the spray you are talking about is available in aerosol cans here ( and i'm sure everywhere else) and works terrific for tractor floor boards, I put it on all 4 Kubotas that we work commercially, no problems after 2.5 years. ....

This area is not fiberglass. It is some kind of plastic. If you had any of the x55 series this is what the hoods were made of. So far is it very tough. I have no complaints. The bedliner idea is a good one. I have a '93 chevy that was Rhinolined 3 days after I bought it. It is one of the best products I have used. I abused the truck and the bedliner is the best looking part of The thing! ....
